Ty Uchaf (which means 'top house' in Welsh) is located in the quiet hamlet of Rhyd, nestling in a small valley with fields and forest in front of the cottage, looking down towards the estuary at Porthmadog, with the backdrop of the dramatic peaks of the Snowdonia mountains (Cnicht and The Moelwyns are immediately behind the cottage). It is secluded and away from the main tourist hotspots of Snowdonia, but within easy reach of all the mountain and coastal attractions, including the lovely Llyn Peninsula. The cottage is semi-detached with two bedrooms (the cottage is on the right hand side of the header photograph on this page), with a secluded back garden which backs onto fields with clear views of the Moelwyn mountains. The garden is particularly nice in the spring, when it is a mass of colour from the azaleas and daffodils.
