We are in Rhyd this week - late October/early November is often a good time to visit Snowdonia - the crowds have gone, but the weather can be very good. Today was a good example of this - nice clear, crisp autumn sunshine with that very sharp quality of light that you find at this time of year. We went for a wander around the Moelwyns behind the cottage, climbing the 'shoulder' of Moelwyn Mawr, then traversing some of the old quarry levels below Moelwyn Mawr and Craigysgafn to Bwlch Stwlan, before scrambling up the steep scree path to the summit of Moelwyn Bach. It was then a pleasant stroll down the west ridge whilst watching the sun set over the Llyn Peninsula. A very pleasant day out !
