We are in Rhyd this week. There has been a bit of snow over the last 24 hours, but not as much as in some other parts of the UK. Nevertheless, the mountains look great with their light covering of snow. The winds at height have been a problem. We tried an ascent of Moelwyn Bach today, but turned back at about 500m due to the very strong winds - we met a walker who had attempted to reach the summit, but he gave up at about 600m after he was blown over twice by the gale force winds.
